Who you'll be working with

Leandro Orfeo

Personal trainer and athletic coach. For more than three years I've worked with people who want to get somewhere – from complete beginners to footballers.

I'm young, and I know that's the first thing you'll wonder about. My answer is six completed licences from the IST-Studieninstitut – one of Germany's largest providers of sports and fitness education – and the fact that I'm on the pitch and in the gym myself every week. Beyond that I swim, ski and surf whenever I get near water.

What I don't do: hand out standard plans, or tell you everything will be different in four weeks. What I do: build a structure that fits the life you actually have.

On language: I coach in English as well as German. Technique cues, explanations and your plan – all in English if that's easier for you.

What clients say

In their own words

These are from German-speaking clients, so I've left them exactly as they wrote them. The English translation is underneath each one.

  • Das Training hat immer Spaß gemacht – und trotzdem wurde man jedes Mal neu gefordert. Er passt es an die persönlichen Bedürfnisse und den Leistungsstand an; man merkt sofort, dass er weiß, was er tut. Dazu menschlich einfach top.

TranslationTraining was always fun and still pushed me every single time. He adapts it to your needs and your level – you can tell straight away that he knows what he's doing. And he's genuinely good company.

TranslationBecause of my hip arthrosis it mattered to me that the training is built around my condition – and that is exactly what he does. I feel more mobile now and have lost weight. Patient, knowledgeable, and motivating in a pleasant way.

TranslationGreat support for our under-13 squad. The athletic training fits modern youth football perfectly – running coordination, stability, acceleration. He is great with this age group and builds team spirit.

How it works

Four steps to your first session

  1. Step 01

    Intro call

Short and free, by phone or in person. We work out your goal and whether I'm the right person for it.

  2. Step 02

    Starting point

Mobility, stability, base strength, previous injuries – and how much time you realistically have.

  3. Step 03

    Your plan

A structure with clear milestones, built around your week rather than a template.

  4. Step 04

    Training

We train, we measure, we adjust. Whatever doesn't work gets dropped.

Common questions

Before you ask

Where do we train?

At your home, your gym, outdoors, or at a club's ground – I come to you. I'm based in Gärtringen and travel around 25 km in every direction, which covers Herrenberg, Nufringen, Ehningen, Böblingen, Sindelfingen, Holzgerlingen, Weil im Schönbuch, Aidlingen, Deckenpfronn, Jettingen, Bondorf, Schönaich, Magstadt, Renningen, Leonberg and Waldenbuch. If your town isn't listed, ask anyway – it often still works.

When and how often do we train?

A session lasts 60 minutes. I don't set fixed hours – we find a slot that fits your week. Early before work, evenings or weekends are all possible in principle. What actually works in your case is quickly sorted out in the intro call.

For a start, one session a week with me is enough, plus one or two short sessions in between, which I write down for you and adjust after every appointment. If you want to move faster, take two appointments a week.

Honestly, it isn't the number that decides it, but whether you stay with it over months. That's why I plan a workload you can realistically keep up rather than one that collapses after three weeks.

What happens in the intro call?

We talk briefly about your goal, where you're starting from and how much time you have. Then I tell you honestly whether and how I can help. If I'm not the right person, I'll say so.

The easiest way is by phone – call me on +49 176 20382043. If you'd rather have a video call or meet in person, that works just as well. Either way it costs nothing, and you don't have to decide anything afterwards.

More questions
Do you really coach in English?

Yes. Sessions, technique cues and your written plan can all be in English. German is my first language, so occasionally I'll reach for a word – but you will never be left guessing what an exercise is meant to do.

I don't play football at all – am I in the right place?

Yes. Most of my clients are individuals with no club at all: people who want to get stronger, lose weight, get rid of back trouble, or start again after years off. Athletics and clubs are only one part of what I do – they are prominent on this site because I play football myself.

You need no previous experience, no base level of fitness, and no goal that sounds like elite sport. “I want to feel good again” is a perfectly good answer.

I have no space at home – is it still possible?

Yes, and there are three ways round it:

Outdoors. A park, a sports ground, a yard or a garage – for most exercises you need barely more room than a mat. I bring the small equipment with me.

In a gym. If you have a membership, I come there. If you don't, we find one near you – a day pass often does the job.

By video call. For the weeks when you can't make it or you're away. I can see you, correct your technique and count along – it doesn't replace training in person, but it keeps you on track.

I've never worked with a personal trainer before.

That's the normal case, not the exception. We start with the basic movements and build technique properly. You don't need to be able to do anything, and you don't need to bring anything.

I have back pain or a pre-existing condition. Can I still train?

Often yes – that's exactly why I took the licences in back training and medical fitness training. Two things you should know, though: training is not medical treatment and does not replace seeing a doctor. If you have acute pain, an injury, a pre-existing condition, or you're pregnant, please get medical clearance first. Tell me what's going on and I'll build the training around it.

Do I have to commit long-term?

No. There is no subscription and no fixed-term contract. We start with the intro call, and you decide afterwards in your own time.

The block of 10 is optional as well – you can book session by session for as long as you like. The block only pays off if you're carrying on anyway. And if you find it isn't working, you simply stop: there is nothing to cancel and no notice to give.

How does it work with a whole squad?

The entry point is a pre-season block of six, eight or ten sessions – we test at the start and at the end, with an evaluation for every player. After that you decide with numbers rather than gut feeling whether a season package makes sense.

The squad rates are under prices.

You're quite young – why you?

Fair question. I've completed six IST licences, I've worked with clients for over three years, and I'm on the pitch and in the gym myself every week. The intro call costs nothing – a short chat will tell you whether that's enough.
